As Editor:

— Georg Herzfeld, William Taylor of Norwich: A Study of the Influence of Modern German Literature in England (Romantic Circles, 2007). Translated by Astrid Wind, and with a Foreword by Frederick Burwick. I took final responsibility for the text, supplied the introduction, extensive annotation, and checked and corrected all Herzfeld’s references. This book is freely available for download as “A Romantic Circles Scholarly Resource;” click HERE. It is the fullest source of information about William Taylor available on the internet.

— William Hazlitt, The Fight and Other Writings, introduced by Tom Paulin (Penguin, 2000). I supplied the annotation and a biographical index. Read a positive review, available HERE: “Chandler has performed an impressive labour with the annotations to the essays ... 55 pages of meticulous and useful notes ... These notes are of superior quality, and they are well complemented by a 25-page biographical index of all the important persons mentioned by Hazlitt.”

— Kenji Miyazawa, An Asura in Spring, translated with Ruriko Suzuki (Shohakusha, 1998). A faithful translation of one of Japan’s most startlingly original poets.
